Dr Steve Webster

I founded Delta-innovation in 2005 to bring together academic and applied expertise to address the challenges faced within the agricultural, environmental, fisheries and food sectors. I’d previously completed my PhD at the University of Reading and held roles as a post-doctoral research assistant in the Department of Zoology at the University of Oxford, a science consultant with ADAS and a project manager within a consortium of agricultural colleges.

Through Delta-innovation I have developed long-standing partnerships with other specialist consultancies including Cumulus Consultants, with whom I have worked since 2011 and Chronos Sustainability, whose partners I have worked with since 2014. I co-founded Tautenay, a consultancy focused on the UK’s Crown Dependencies and British Overseas Territories, in 2020.

Working with and alongside clients I have been privileged to be able to spend time on projects as diverse as assessing compliance with WTO and free trade agreements; developing and negotiating sanitary and phytosanitary border policies; evaluating company performance for farm animal welfare and developing codes of practice for decapod crustacean welfare; analysing the impacts of farming subsidies and support; researching fisheries trade and economics; and appraising abattoir economic and operational efficiency – to name a few!

If you’d like to know more about my work and how I might be able to help your own organisation, please do get in touch.
