  • Developed an economic modelling tool for the North York Moors National Park

  • Supported the ELM Test and Trial – blending public and private finance to facilitate landscape recovery

  • Appraised the operationalisation of tree protections under Jersey’s planning regulations

  • Reviewed Channel Island policy & legislation for the control of genetically modified organisms

Fisheries

  • Developed a Marine Resources Strategy for the Government of Jersey

  • Analysed trade flows for the UK shellfish sector and the impacts of rules of origin requirements on the UK fishing industry

  • Assessed the potential impacts of the pan-Euro-Mediterranean Preferential Rules of Origin on UK fisheries businesses

  • Produced the Beyond Brexit Blueprint for the Scottish fisheries sector

  • Contributed to the Net Zero and Sustainability report for the Scottish seafood sector

  • Drafted Codes of Practice for the welfare of decapod crustaceans

  • Analysed the economics of the Falkland Islands’ Illex squid jigging fishery

  • Assessed barriers to uptake of selective fishing gear

  • Produced cost-benefit analyses of a Nephrops stunning and tailing machine

Food

  • Reviewed food security for the Government of Jersey

  • Researched the tariff and non-tariff barriers to Jersey’s agricultural and shellfish trade

  • Reviewed the impact to Jersey of the extension of the UK’s WTO membership

  • Analysed the negotiating positions for Jersey’s trade in goods and the impacts of UK-EU trading arrangements on the jurisdiction’s support to business

  • Reviewed UK-third country free trade agreements to ascertain their impacts on the Crown Dependencies
